Film Distributor Karthik of KR Films and actress Satna Titus married in August this year in a low-key civil ceremony. News of their marriage became public last week, with Titus’ parents accusing Karthik of ‘brainwashing’ their daughter into marriage. Following this, the couple released a statement confirming their marriage. They also announced that a public ceremony will be held in January, 2017 in a grand manner. According to the press release, the marriage will be held with the consent of both the families.
In an interview with a Tamil daily, Karthik confirmed that his wedding with Titus had taken place with the consent of both their parents. “Satna and I got married a month back. We had a register marriage only with the consent of both our parents. We will soon have an open wedding to announce it to everyone,” said Karthik to a Tamil daily. The couple were introduced to each other while working for Pichaikkaran.

Karthik also confirmed that the actress will not be seen in films anymore. “Although there are many offers for the actress, she is not keen on taking them up”, the daily quoted Karthik as saying. Reportedly, the actress has returned the advance she was given for Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam, directed by debutant Sai Sudarshan, in which she was supposed to play the female lead opposite actor Chandran of Kayal fame.
Meanwhile, another report claimed that Satna’s mother was against the former’s decision to marry Karthik. Speaking to a Tamil daily, the actress’ mother accused Karthik of trying to ruin her daughter’s career. She also said that Satna was being held captive by Karthik and that she would approach the Nadigar Sangam to look into the matter.
