Actors Satyadev Kancharana and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer Gurtundhaseetakalam went on floors on Friday. The film will be helmed by Kannada director Nagashekar who is known for Myna (2013), marking his debut into Tollywood. Nagashekar is also producing the film under the Nagashekar Movies banner, along with Bhavna Ravi, marking the first production under the banner. The film is the official remake of Kannada sleeper hit Love Mocktail.
Satyadev Kancharana took to Twitter to announce the news.

Gurtundhaseetakalam will have Satya Hegde on camera, Kotagiri Venkateswar Rao on edit, Arun Sagar on art, and Kaala Bhairava, son of composer MM Keeravani on music. Venkat is handling stunts with Shekar on dance choreography. Lakshmi Bhoopal is penning dialogues for the film.
Actors ‘Darling’ Krishna and Milana Nagaraj starrer Love Mocktail, that hit screens at the beginning of the year, turned out to be a hit despite the buzz around the film prior to release remaining low. Helmed by Krishna and produced along with Milana under the Krishna Talkies banner, the film was a simple love story told from Krishna’s character’s point of view.
While Love Mocktail was a complete romantic-drama, Nagashekar earlier revealed that he would be modifying Gurtundhaseetakalam for the Telugu audiences by incorporating action in the screenplay. “I have only taken the soul of the original and changed the entire screenplay for the new version. Love Mocktail will now be a romantic action drama and will have a different flavour from the original,” he said.
Apart from the lead pair, Love Mocktail also starred Amrutha Iyengar, Rachana Inder, Abhilaash N, and, Kushi in important roles. It had music by Raghu Dixit and camera & editing by Sri Crazymindzz. The film is getting a sequel, the script puja of which took place in June.

Meanwhile, Satyadev Kancharana is basking in the success of his Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya that saw a direct release on Netflix, skipping a theatrical release. Helmed by Venkatesh Maha, Satyadev played a still photographer in the film.
Tamannaah, who was last seen in Anil Ravipudi’s Sarileru Neekevvaru for the song ‘Daang Daang’ with Mahesh Babu, will next be seen in Hindi in Shamas Nawab Siddiqui‘s Bole Chudiyan alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, in Telugu in Prasanth Varma‘s That is Mahalakshmi (remake of Hindi movie Queen), and Sampath Nandi’s Seetimaarr alongside Gopichand. She will also feature in a Tamil web series, The November’s Story, helmed by debutant Ram Subramanian and funded by popular Tamil language weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan.
