Udhayanidhi Stalin has said that talks are on to start work on a sequel to Manithan. He told Dinamalar, “The sequel will not be a remake of Jolly LLB 2, that released recently.We are working on an original script for the project and will announce it soon.”

Manithan was a remake of Jolly LLB. It was directed by I Ahmed and opened to mostly positive reviews in April last year. Reports indicate that Ahmed will return to direct the sequel as well.

At present, Udhayanidhi is hard at work on several projects. He has Saravanan Irukka Bayamen, Ippadai Vellum and Podhuvaga En Manasu Thangam in the pipeline.
