Theatre artist and cinema actor, Shabeer Kallarkkal, known for his performance in Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, is all set to play villain in Prabhu Deva’s directorial – Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja.
Speaking to Times of India, the actor said tht his beard helped him bag the role.
“Prabudheva sir was looking for an actor who has a big beard. When my friend showed my pictures, he wanted to know if I was still in that look. Thankfully , I was, and he called me over to meet me. Since I come from a theatre background and have trained in kalari, parkour and taking classes for stunts from Pandian master, he cast me for the role,” he said.
Shabeer will be joining the sets soon, clocking in twenty days for the shoot. The actor, known for his fitness and physique, will soon be travelling to Malayasia for his play Garage Gang.
Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja marks Prabhu’s return to direction after six years. The film stars Vishal, Karthi, and Sayyeshha in the lead, with Harris Jayaraj composing the music. The actor/director/dancer announced that he will dedicate the film to the film’s writer and his late-friend, K Subash, who died in November last year after battling kidney problems.
