Shah Rukh Khan, the actor who was last seen in the Hindi film Zero, and Nayanthara, the actor who was last seen in the Tamil film Netrikann, have started shooting in Pune for filmmaker and screenwriter Atlee‘s next directorial, ETimes reported.

It is a 10-day shooting schedule after which the crew will move to Mumbai film city for the filming, as per the report. While Khan, who recently wrapped up shooting for Pathan, will go on to shoot filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani‘s film after completing this schedule, the rest of the crew will continue shooting.

According to a Pinkvilla report on Thursday, Atlee and other crew members were already in Pune working on the technicalities for the shooting. A source had told the publication that Shah Rukh Khan will be joining them any day now and the makers are all geared up for the first schedule of the film. “It’s a brief stint to get things rolling on the film. Even Nayanthara will be a part of this schedule and the shoot is set to begin in the next few days,” the source said.

Khan, who has previously played double roles in Fan (2016), Duplicate (1998), Don, Paheli (2005), will once again be playing a double role in the film.

“It’s larger than life yet driven by performance. Atlee masters the art of making double and triple role films, and this is him bringing the genre back to Bollywood with SRK,” the source further added.

Nayanthara, who is making her debut in Hindi films with Atlee’s upcoming directorial, has worked with him previously in Raja Rani (2013). According to another ETimes report, the actor will be playing the role of a cop in the film.

Produced by Khan’s Red Chillie Entertainment, the upcoming action-packed thriller also features Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles, but details about the characters they will be playing have not been disclosed yet. The film is also likely to feature Rana Daggubati in a negative role.

While Daggubati will be working for the first time with Khan, he has previously worked with Nayanthara in the 2012 Telugu action-drama Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum.

GK Vishnu, who has previously worked with Atlee in Mersal (2017) and Bigil (2019), is the cinematographer for the upcoming film.
