Shankar’s Next With Vijay And Vikram’s Sons May Begin Before ‘Indian 2’

Jason Sanjay, actor Vijay’s son and Dhruv, actor Vikram’s son will reportedly be seen together in director Shankar’s next, planned as a light-hearted film after 2.0. Sources say that the project is likely to begin even before the completion of Indian 2, because Kamal Haasan is busy with politics.

The spokesperson for director Shankar has denied these reports saying nothing has been finalised as yet. Some reports suggest that it is Vikram and Vijay who star in this film, and Shankar is reviving his big-budget action film that has been in the pipeline for many years now. However, the word is that auditions for the film are on and director Shankar plans to introduce newcomers in cast and crew, with Jason and Dhruv in the lead. Reliance Entertainment is in talks to produce the film.

Shankar’s Indian 2 reportedly went on floors in January this year, with Kajal Aggarwal joining the cast. In April, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, speculations were rife that the film was shelved because of Kamal’s political commitments. Reports also suggested that Lyca Productions backed out due to the high cost of productions and the constant changes in shoot schedules. The actor earlier said that the Shankar directorial would be his last film before he moves on to full-time politics.

Meanwhile, Dhruv Vikram is currently busy with the shoot for Aditya Varma, the remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. This is Dhruv’s first film as an actor, and it was supposed to release earlier this month but was dropped due to creative differences between director Bala and producers E4 Entertainment. The film is now being re-shot with Gireesaya as the director, and Dhruv Vikram, accompanied by his father, was in Portugal recently for the shooting of a song.

Jason Sanjay, actor Vijay’s son, has directed and acted in two short films – Junction and Siri. He made his acting debut in the big screen with the song ‘Naan Adicha Thaanga Maatta’ from Vettaikkaran, directed by B Babusivan. It is believed that he is currently studying film abroad. Actor Vijay recently even took a break from shoot for Thalapathy 63 to visit him.
