According to a report in NDTV, Shilpa talked about the issue at a promotional event.

“We don’t know the nitty-gritties of the goings on but it has kick-started a movement. People have suffered. It’s time women wake up and take charge. It shouldn’t be hashtag MeToo, it should be YouToo, for the men. It’s shouldn’t be the women, cowing down and saying oh #MeToo,” she told PTI.

She stressed on the importance of maintaining a safe working environment for all genders.”In any milieu, actors, entrepreneurs, the working environment should feel safe. That should be a prerequisite. This entire movement which has been initiated by Tanushree Dutta, my heart goes out to her, as a woman and on a human level because something like this was brushed under the carpet.”

Celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Freida Pinto, Sonam Kapoor, Renuka Shahane, Malaika Arora, Pooja Bhatt, Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan added their voices in support for Tanushree Dutta.

As reported earlier, actress Tanushree Dutta in an interview with Zoom TV, accused Nana Patekar of harassing her on the sets of Horn Ok Please in 2008. The incident was made public at the time but was soon brushed under the he carpet. “Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about his background… that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it,” Dutta was quoted in an NDTV report.

Patekar has reportedly filed a defamation suit against Tanushree Dutta. Dutta has now filed a police complaint with the Oshiwara Police in Mumbai. A detailed investigation will be launched, reports say.
