Bhuvan R Nullan, the director of Mo, begins his next horror-comedy venture called Zombie. The film’s first shoot was on Thursday in Chennai. Director Ponram was present at the location.
Thursday’s shoot started with Manobala’s portions. Actor Yogi Babu and Yaashika Aanand (of Bigg Boss fame) have important roles in the film. According to a Cinema Express report, Yogi Babu will play a don, and Yashika Aanand, a medical college student.
Zombie is based on events that happen over one night, and will be shot over a period of 30 days in Chennai. Director Bhuvan said in a Deccan Chronicle report, “The film’s story itself is the protagonist and antagonist, the actors are characters interwoven into the play.”
He also said, “Though Yogi Babu, Yashika Anand and several other comedy actors are on board, there’s no hero or heroine. All of them are part of the film.”
This is Tamil cinema’s second zombie thriller after Miruthan, the Jayam Ravi starrer by director Shakthi Soundarrajan. It is being jointly produced by Vasanth Mahalingam and V Muthukumar under S3 productions.
Music is by Premgi Amaren who is known for his songs in Venkat Prabhu’s film Party. YouTube stars Gopi and Sudhakar, TM Karthik, Manobala, Bijili Ramesh, Ramar, Lollu Sabah Manohar, Chithra and Antony Dasan are said to have other roles in the film.
Presently, Yogi Babu has Gurkha and Dharma Prabhu under production. He plays the lead role in both the films. He will also be seen in Airaa, Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, Shaitan Ka Bachcha, 100% Kadhal, Kuppathu Raja, Silukkuvarupatti Singam, Viswasam, Aalukku Paathi 50/50, Sathuranga Vettai 2, Adangathey, Nindru Kolvaan, and Maanik.
