Shooting An ‘AK57’: Ajith To Work With Sathya Jyothi Films

The speculations on actor Ajith Kumar’s upcoming film in the past one month finally comes to an end. Making the announcement through its film launch, it is official that production house Sathya Jyothi Films has signed the actor for their film tentatively titled AK57.

The film will be directed by Siva, with cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy, and this will be their third collaboration with the actor after Veeram (2014) and Vedhalam (2015). Editor Anthony L Ruben and composer Anirudh Ravichander are also part of the team.

The female lead is yet to be finalised. Although some reports said that Kajal Aggarwal has been finalised to play the female lead, sources close to the film deny it, saying that nothing is official since talks are still taking place with respect to the female lead.

The film will primarily be shot abroad. Sathya Jyothi Films is currently working on Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh-starrer Thodari that is slated to release sometime in Septempber, in addition to Mudi Soodaa Mannan starring Vikram  Prabhu in the lead and directed by S R Prabhakaran of Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal fame.

AK57 is the production company’s 32nd project, headed by T G Thyagarajan.
