Actor Vimal told Silverscreen that the final schedule wrapped up yesterday. “The story is a straight remake of the Malayalam film, and I play a man from a village, while Shriya is my boss in a city. The roles were apt for us both of us and it was a great experience on sets,” he said.

Director Madhesh said in a statement that the film is a full-fledged comedy, shot in London, New York, Venice and later in Goa and Cochin. Actors Prabhu, Sathyan, KR Vijaya, Rekha, Mahanadi Shankar, Uma Padmanabhan, Crane Manohar and Devendar Singh Gill play supporting roles. Cinematography is by Ravi Shankar, music by Amrish, lyrics by Vivek and editing by Dinesh.

Reports say that a release can be expected in September.

The Malayalam film The Boss (2012), starring Mamta Mohandas and Dileep, was set in an IT company, and centered on an employee who aspires to go to a foreign country. His boss, an Indian born American citizen gets stuck with visa problems when she has the opportunity to get a promotion. This pushes her to marry him in order to stay in India. The popular 2009 Hollywood film The Proposal starred Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in the lead.

Shriya Saran is back for this film after her wedding to Russian businessman Andrei Koscheev. She has been busy with Telugu films since the STR-starrer Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan (2017) in Tamil. She also has director Karthick Naren’s Naragasooran which is facing delays due to financial issues, and the Prakash Raj directorial Tadka in Hindi.

Vimal, whose Kalavani 2 just released, is currently busy with the comedy film Kanni Rasi directed by Muthukumar and co-starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. His film Redavadhu Padam directed by CS Amudhan is under production.
