Siddharth Begins Shooting For ‘Maha Samudram’

Aruvam Movie Stills Starring Siddharth

Siddharth, who is starring in the upcoming Telugu film Maha Samudram, directed by Ajay Bhupathi, announced that he has started shooting for the film. Siddharth shared a picture on social media with the announcement on Sunday.

Maha Samudram’s filmmakers also announced that the film’s shooting would begin today.

Maha Samudram, described as a “love and action drama,” also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharwanand and Anu Emmanuel. This is the team’s first collaboration. Hydari was cast as the female lead in October after the filmmakers considered several names and felt she would be the best choice. Subsequently, Anu Emmanuel was cast in what the filmmakers termed a “significant role,” without giving additional details as yet.

This is Siddharth first Telugu film after a hiatus of eight years. He was last seen in the 2019 Tamil film Aruvam, a revenge drama about adulteration in food products.

Maha Samudram is being produced under the banner of AK Entertainments. Chaitan Bharadwaj is the music composer for the film while Praveen KL will handle the editing.

On November 14, Siddharth had released the theme poster for the film, and captioned it “I’m mightier than the wind and scarier than the storm! Who are you? Here’s the theme poster of our epic Telugu saga #Mahasamudram.” Set in Vizag, the theme poster of the film comes with the tagline “An Immeasurable Love.”

Maha Samudram is also Siddharth’s second shoot after the Covid-19 lockdown. He has been shooting for the Hindi thriller web series Escaype Live since October-end, “without a break after a long break” due to the Coronavirus pandemic, he said on social media. His co-stars for Escaype Live include Shweta Tripathi and Swastika Mukherjee.

Bhupathi had announced Maha Samudram earlier in September this year. No official announcement has been made on the release date of Maha Samudram yet. It will release in both Telugu and Tamil.
