According to a source close to the production house – Abhishek Pictures – the film will be shot in Chennai and Puducherry. Rumours that the film has been titled Rettai Kombu are false. “A title has not been decided yet. The female leads have also not been finalised. Only when the full team is in place will we announce the cast and crew,” he said.

Sasi has directed films such as Roja Kootam, Poo and Pichaikkaran. Prasanna Kumar handles the cinematography for the film, while San Lokesh is the editor. Prasanna has collaborated with Sasi for Pichaikkaran, but this is San Lokesh’s first project with the director.

According to the source, the new film has a unique plot at its core. They also dismissed rumours that Siddharth and GV Prakash Kumar play brothers in the film.

Siddharth tweeted about the film’s launch earlier on Tuesday. He said that he had waited years to work with Sasi and was very excited about the film. The actor is expected to begin filming soon for the project.

Siddharth’s last release in Tamil was the hit horror film Aval, which he also produced. He made his Malayalam debut with Kammara Sambhavam in 2018. He has Shaitha Ka Bachcha with Karthik Krish under production and an untitled one with Trident Arts directed by Sai Sekar, where he co-stars with Catherine Tresa. GV Prakash Kumar, on the other hand, has the 100% Love remake and Rajiv Menon’s Sarvam Thaala Mayam.
