Silambarasan has requested his fans to stay calm, and not to target individuals in the film industry. This follows rumours alleged the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) was trying to stall the actor’s upcoming movie Vantha Raajavathaan Varuven (VRV).
In his statement, he said that only the council (referring to the TFPC) and not individuals had the authority to make decisions and hence asked people to stop targeting individuals. He said that any differences with the council could be sorted out.
STR, as he is known, courted controversy when the producer of his 2017 film Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan complained to the TFPC that he had to suffer losses because of the actor’s lackadaisical attitude during the shoot.
The actor who has shot for Chekka Chivantha Vaanam since then, had sent an explanation to the Council following the producer’s complaint. However, it has now been alleged that the Council has been trying to stall the shoot for VRV.
A report in DTNext also said that the Council contacted the film’s director Sundar C to cancel the shoot. The VRV team had recently announced its release date. The film is scheduled to release for Pongal along with Ajith’s Viswasam, and Rajinikanth’s Petta.

While Kamal Haasan will be reprising his role of ‘Senapathy’ from the original movie that released in 1996, Simbu has been in roped in to play a cop. The actor previously played a police officer in Osthe – a remake of Salman Khan’s Dabangg.
