Simran is the latest to join Sivakarthikeyan’s next. The actress has a pivotal role in the film directed by Ponram. In conversation with Silverscreen, she said:
“This is a very new kind of film for me. It’s a completely different genre also. So, I’m doubly, triply excited to be a part of this project, and quite frankly, very enthusiastic about the whole thing. I get to work with Napoleon sir, Sivakarthikeyan and Samantha – a nice and energetic team.”
Ponram, too, said that he considered himself ‘lucky’ to have Simran in his third film as director. “Simran is everybody’s dream actress. Only someone canny can get to the top and rule over Tamil cinema like she did. So for her to pick my project and accept to be a part of it, is an honour.”
The film, with Sivakarthikeyan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead, went on floors earlier today. 24 AM Studios is the producer while D Imman is the music composer.
The director has roped in veteran actors like Napoleon, Lal to play pivotal roles in the film. The film also has a promising team of comedians, including Soori, ‘Motta’ Rajendran, Yogi Babu and Manobala. The romantic comedy will be shot in and around Tenkasi. Plans are on to release the film in Summer this year.
