Sivakarthikeyan’s new film with director PS Mithran has been titled Hero, according to a report. Referred to as #SK15, the movie is currently under production. Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the female lead.
When contacted by Silverscreen, Sivakarthikeyan’s official spokesperson denied knowledge of such reports.
Arjun Sarja, who played a villain in Mithran’s debut film Irumbu Thirai plays the antagonist yet again. Ivana will also be seen in a pivotal role. The film is produced by RD Raja under the banner 24 AM Studios. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by George C Williams. Antony L Ruben is the editor. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised. The shooting for the movie will start this month.
About working with Sivakarthikeyan, Mithran earlier told Silverscreen: “We have known each other since 2010 when we worked together on a short film. We have always wanted to make a feature film, but it never took off because Irumbu Thirai got delayed – we started filming in 2016 and it released only in 2018. Sivakarthikeyan and I started discussing the new project after the release of Irumbu Thirai.”
Sivakarthikeyan has two other films in production currently. Mr Local with director M Rajesh, of Siva Manasula Sakthi fame, is gearing up for release. This is his first collaboration with the director. It’s a comedy entertainer with Nayanthara in the lead, starring Sathish, Radhika Sarathkumar and others.

He also had a big-budget science fiction film with Rakul Preet Singh, directed by Ravi Kumar of Netru Indru Naalai fame. The actor made his first production recently with Kanaa, directed by Arunraja Kamaraj. The film starred Aishwarya Rajesh, Sathyaraj and Dharshan in lead roles, with Sivakarthikeyan in a supporting role.
His next production venture is with debut director Karthik Venugopal, starring VJ Rio in the lead. Karthik is a popular YouTuber who gained fame with his channel Black Sheep Tamil. A spokesperson for this film told Silverscreen that Sivakarthikeyan might also star in the film. This has not been confirmed yet.
