Debut director Anand Annamalai, who has worked as a dialogue writer for the Tamil film Kaaka Muttai, is said to be directing a Tamil, Telugu and Kannada multilingual starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. It is pitched as a sports drama with the same title, and will be produced on a huge budget by Mytri Movie Makers. As per reports, the actor will play a bike racer in the film and is currently getting trained in racing in Chennai.

Claiming that the title belonged to him, Anand Annamalai said, “Currently I’m directing a film with Vijay Deverakonda, which will go on floors next month. Our title Hero was registered in the Tamil Film Producers Council a year back and we have proof for it. But it is shocking to see the announcement of Sivakarthikeyan’s film with the same title. We are not ready to sacrifice the title for anyone and have written a letter to the Producers Council.”

Meanwhile, a letter issued by the TFPC has been doing the rounds. It certifies KJR Studios, the producers of Sivakarthikeyan’s film, as having registered for the title in February this year.

Sivakarthikeyan’s new film with director PS Mithran went on floors recently.
