‘SK16’ Is A Mass Entertainer Like ‘Kadaikutty Singam’, Says Pandiraj

Director Pandiraj has said that his film starring Sivakarthikeyan and Aishwarya Rajesh, currently titled SK16 will be a “pakka” mass entertainer similar to his previous film Kadaikutty Singam.

On one year of Kadaikutty Singam, he shared posters of both films and said that the team was working day and night on SK16. In another tweet he said families must watch the film together.

Kadaikutty Singam, starring Karthi, Sayessha, Sathyaraj, Priya Bhavani Shankar and others told the story of the son of a rich farmer who takes up his father’s profession, and struggles to keep his family together. The film opened to positive reviews in July last year and ran for over 100 days.

Pandiraj’s SK16 is also a rural family drama featuring a big star cast with Sivakarthikeyan and Aishwarya Rajesh reportedly playing siblings. The story centers on them. Anu Emmanuel stars opposite Sivakarthikeyan. Cinematographer Natty, directors Bharathirajaa and Samuthirakani will be seen in important roles. RK Suresh, Soori and Yogi Babu are also part of the cast.

D Imman is the music composer, Nirav Shah the cinematographer, Anthony Ruben the editor, and actor Veera Samar is the art director.

It was reported recently that the title of the film is Enga Veetu Mapillai, named after the 1965 MGR film. However, Vijaya Productions issued a statement saying they had rights to the title of the film, and director Pandiraj also confirmed that the speculations were false. Sources say the title may be announced soon.

As reported recently, the first schedule in Karaikudi has wrapped up, and the team has started the next one in Theni. The film will release on September 27.

Sivakarthikeyan also has director PS Mithran’s Hero which is likely to release during Christmas, and pre-production work on SK17 with Vignesh Shivan is on. His third production venture Vaazhl directed by Arun Prabhu has wrapped up and post-production work has started.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rajesh currently has Dhruva Natchathiram, the Vada Chennai sequel, Mei, and the Telugu remake of Kanaa under production.
