Legendary music director MS Viswanathan’s son Gopi says that his father is doing well and would be discharged in a day. MS Viswanathan, who has worked on over 750 films, was admitted to the Fortis Malar hospital after developing breathing-related difficulties. His condition had deteriorated on Tuesday, and he had been moved to the intensive care unit.

Last week, music director Ilaiyaraaja visited MS Viswanathan at the hospital, and even fed him. Several celebrities have been in and out of the hospital to greet the acclaimed composer. With a career that began in 1952 with Sivaji Ganeshan’s Panam, MS Viswanathan has won several music awards in the past half-century, including the Kalaimamani award.
