Sonam Kapoor Does Not Support Swara Bhaskar’s Pakistan Comments

After being trolled for her masturbation scene in Veere Di Wedding, Swara Bhasker became the talk of twitter once again for her comments about the film’s ban in Pakistan. In an interview, she said:

“They’re a non-secular state. I’m not surprised at all. Why should we hold up Pakistan, which is a failing state — I don’t understand why we keep taking pleasure and feeling a sense of self-worth from all the silly things that happen in Pakistan.”

Bhasker’s comment received a lot of backlash and hatred on Twitter from a few Pakistani celebrities including Urwa Hocane, Gohar Rasheed, Mehwish Hayat, and Armeena Khan, who expressed their annoyance and skepticism about the whole issue.

Meanwhile, Swara’s co-star in the film, Sonam Kapoor came out to defend the actress and said: “I think people just like to troll her because she has an opinion and a point of view and I guess that shows how much they love her because the other side of hate is always love, so Swara you have a lot of lovers!.”

Following social media criticism, Sonam was forced to clarify that she came out in support of Swara Bhaskar for her masturbation scene in the film ‘Veere Di Wedding‘ and not for her comments on Pakistan.
