Song Yoo-jung, South Korean Actor, Found Dead

Song Yoo-jung, the South Korean actor who has acted in several Korean television shows, was found dead on Saturday in Seoul. The actor was 26.

Yoo-jung’s death was confirmed by her agency, Sublime Artiste agency. According to DNA, Sublime announced in a statement, “Actress Song Yu Jung departed this life on January 23, 2021. In accordance with the wishes of her family, the funeral was held quietly and the funeral procession takes place on January 25.”

The agency, however, did not disclose the reason of her death.

The agency also paid respect to the late actor on Instagram.

“Actor Song Yoo-jong has left us. Yoo Jung has always been our friend who gives happiness with a bright smile, and she was a wonderful actor who played with passion more than anyone else. Thank you for joining us as an actor at the Sublime Artist Agency. I will remember it forever,” the post read.

Yoo-jung began her acting career at the age of 20 as a cosmetics model. She has appeared in commercials for several brands including Estée Lauder, The Body Shop, and Baskin & Robbins. She started her acting career with television series Golden Rainbow in 2013. She has also acted in MBC’s television shows Make a Wish in 2014 and School 2017 in 2017. In 2019, the actor played the role of an architect student in search of her soulmate in the web series Dear My Name.

Yoo-jung has also acted in music videos, including South Korean indie acoustic pop band, Standing Egg’s recent song Friend to lover.

The late South Korean actor was also an advocate for people with disabilities and had served as the ambassador of Warm Accompaniment, a South Korean Welfare Corporation. She had voiced a narration along with actor Lim Na-young in 2019 as part of a campaign for the spatial welfare of facilities for the disabled.
