Speaking to the press at the audio launch of Rajini Murugan, producer Lingusamy announced that his next film Sandakozhi II will feature D Imman as the music director, and Soori as the lead comedian.

It is to be noted that Lingusamy had previously collaborated with Yuvan Shankar Raja on a host of movies including Sandakozhi, Paiyaa, Vettai and Anjaan.
The producer also expressed interest in casting Keerthi Suresh opposite Vishal. However, he said it would be tough due to her busy schedule and upcoming commitments. Interestingly, Meera Jasmine, who played the female lead in Sandakozhi, will be doing a cameo in the sequel. Declaring that the Rajini Murgan team was one of his favorites, Lingusamy said that he would like to have most of them on board for Sandakozhi II as well.
