Kaththi will mark Eros Music’s entry into the Tamil film industry. As we had reported earlier, the label has secured the audio rights of the AR Murugadoss – Vijay film and plans to unveil the album at a grand ceremony on September 18. Interestingly, the announcement came just a few days after Soundarya Rajinikanth assumed her new position as Director, Creative and Strategy at Eros International. Speaking to us, she said, “Kaththi is the first album for both Eros Music and myself. I’m deeply privileged and honoured to be associated with the label and to also enable the release of this particular soundtrack. 2014 has been very kind to me so far and I hope that I get to add the success of this album to my list too!”
Featuring the music of Anirudh Ravichander, the film is slated for release on Deepavali this year. Vijay in dual roles, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Neil Nitin Mukesh as the baddie make Kaththi one of the most anticipated films this year. With Ai in the running as well, it may well prove to be an exciting Deepavali at the box office.
