Touted as a comedy film Karwan also marks the directorial debut of Humshakals and Krrish 3 screenwriter Akarsh Khurana. The basic plot of the movie deals with Dulquer’s character Avinash, a Bangalore teenager and his life. The poster however gives away an idea that the film might be a road-movie as the tagline of the movie reads, “3 lost souls, 2 dead bodies…A journey of a Lifetime”. Dulquer has steeped out of his comfort zone and is now open to experimenting movies outside of his regional language. His last movie Mahanati made in Telugu is proof enough!

Ronnie Screwvala, who bankrolled for some of the hit movies like Kai Po Che, Vikram starrer Thandavam and the Bollywood thriller movie No One Killed Jessica, is producing the film. The music for the movie is composed by Anurag Saikia.
