Following the success of Kanchana 2, Sri Thenandal Films have now acquired the distribution rights of director Sakthivel Perumalsamy’s film Urumeen. According to sources, the release is scheduled for July. The official release date is expected shortly.

Recently, Urumeen’s trailer was denied a censor certificate due to the line ‘Revenge Is Always Ultimate’, creating an adverse impact on the film’s promotional plans. However, the director has expressed his determination to promote the film without the trailer, and is currently awaiting the decision of the revising committee. The director had earlier expressed his sense of outrage over the decision, and stated that there were several movies which needed to be banned on the grounds of obscenity.
Urumeen stars Bobby Simha, Kalaiarasan and Reshmi Menon in the lead, and has been funded by G Dillibabu of Axess Film Factory. Music director Achu Rajamani, cinematographer Ravindranath Guru and editor San Lokesh comprise the technical team.
