Srimanthudu Release Postponed To August 7

The release date of Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Srimanthudu has been postponed to August 7. The film was earlier slated for release on July 17. According to the filmmakers, the schedule change was made to coincide with Mahesh’s 40th birthday. The official reasoning is that it would be the perfect gift for Mahesh, whose birthday falls on August 9. Although the exact reasons for the date change are unclear, our sources report that the real reason might be on account of delays in completing the shooting.

The team is expected to wrap up the shoot in another week’s time and the audio launch has been scheduled for July 17.  There have also been reports that some distributors were not keen on the idea of releasing Baahubali and Srimanthudu within the span of a week, as they felt there might be competition over box-office collections, negatively impacting their overall business. Both the films are expected to bring in major revenue.

Directed by Koratala Siva, Srimanthudu features Shruti Haasan as the lead female actress. The film is jointly produced by Mahesh and Mythri Movies.
