Actress Sriya Reddy, best-known for her debut film Thimuru, has joined the cast of director Priyadarshan’s next film. The yet-untitled film features Prakash Raj in the lead. With this addition, the film marks a re-union of the National Award–winning Kanchivaram team. The story will reportedly combine comic entertainment with an AIDS-sensitization message.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Sriya Reddy said that the team had considered making the film in both Tamil and Malayalam, but after much thought, had decided to make it a Tamil-only film. Expressing her enthusiasm for what she said would be a ‘one-of-a-kind’ movie, she said she expects the film to make a significant impact at film festivals.
The film is produced by director Vijay, with cinematographer Santhosh Sivan and art director Sabu Cyril on the technical team. The filmmakers have reportedly brought in fourteen new actors for the film.
