The annual Star Screen Awards took place on December 3, attended by scores of Bollywood celebrities. The event included a flurry of activities, performances, and the much-loved ‘Red Carpet’ moments apart from the award ceremony.
Vidya Balan bagged the Best Actress Award (Critics) for Tumhari Sulu, Rajkummar Rao got the Best Actor (Critics) Award for Newton and the Best Supporting Actor Award for Bareilly Ki Barfi. While the Best Actress Award went to Konkona Sen Sharma for Lipstick Under My Burkha, Irrfan Khan won the Best Actor (Popular) Award for Hindi Medium. Best Film (Critics) also went to Newton.
Dressed in their best, these are our favourite looks from Sunday’s event:
Kriti Sanon has had a good year especially with Bareily Ki Barfi, and an even better year in terms of her sartorial choices. Possibly one of the best dressed, coupling simple makeup and flashy-but-not-so flashy gown, Kriti manages to impress. Here, she’s wearing an one-shouldered Gaurav Gupta gown with jewellery by Aurelle.
If one follows Saqib’s Instagram handle, then you would know how much he has transformed, physically speaking. While his release this year – Dobaara – didn’t garner much appreciation, we surely appreciate his sleek choice of outfit for the event. Here, he is dressed in a suit by Delhi-based designer Ashish N Soni and styled by Anisha Jain.
The Pink actress never fails to impress when it comes to designer outfits. Given that she’s been part of one of the highest grossing films this year – Judwaa 2 – Taapsee maintains the flow in her outfit too. Here, she’s dressed in a Pankaj and Nidhi gown, whose highlight includes a plunging neckline and a waist-high slit. The navy gown was paired a wing-inspired earpiece by Scarlet Sage and rings from Aurelle.
Having won an award for his performance in Hindi Medium, Irrfan Khan has clearly upped his outfit game in recent times. Here, he is wearing an edgy suit with an equally funky bow-tie designed by Nivedita Saboo Couture. The actor has been styled by fashion innovator Akshay Tyagi.
In a faux bob and taking us back to the classics with her outfit, Diana Penty is seen in an off-shoulder Falguni and Shane Peacock crystal gown.
We like the colour, and the wonderful use of a striped tie with an otherwise simple grey three-piece suit – Harshvardhan Kapoor is seen in a Dior suit for the Star Screen Awards. Clearly the beard and his well-groomed hair ups his style with this look.
