‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Trailer Out: Late Carrie Fisher Makes An Appearance

Rey (Daisy Ridley), the highly Force-sensitive scavenger from Jakku, is back, picking things where she left off in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), they train and try to get more powerful ever since the death of Han Solo.

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) has seemingly gotten more powerful ever since he killed his father, and channels his inner Darth Vader, holding his grandfather’s mask close to him. The trailer also gives us a glimpse into what Chewbacca and his bird-like sidekick have been upto, as well as Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac), who are readying themselves for yet another showdown in this new film.

We also catch Rey shattering the ground (literally) with her blue light saber. Plus, Carrie Fisher, who plays Princess Leia, is seen despondently looking at what her son might do next. Needless to say, Fisher’s appearance made fans nostalgic considering this would be her posthumous release. She died of a cardiac arrest early this year.

The film, directed by Rian Johnson, stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, and Gwendoline Christie in returning roles. New cast members include Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, and Benicio del Toro.

The film is slated for a December 15 release worldwide.
