Student Of The Year 2, the sequel to the 2012 film that starred Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan, has started rolling in Dehradun today. While Karan Johar directed the original, the second film will have him as producer, bankrolled under his Dharma Productions.
Tiger Shroff will be playing the male lead, with the first-look poster out in November last year. While the film’s female leads have not been announced yet, reports suggest that it will be actor Chunky Pandey’s daughter, Ananya Pandey, and newcomer Tara Sutaria making their debut.
Johar shared an image from the film’s set today which oddly looks to be inspired from Harry Potter and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, indicating that it will once again be about students sporting six packs with issues that have no real resemblance to any school students from India.

The film is being directed by Punit Malhotra who is best known for directing I Hate Luv Storys and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. It is slated for a November release this year.
