The poster was also shared by Karthi on Twitter. On Monday, Rashmika Mandanna, who also plays the lead in the film wrote, “A few words about #Sulthan is that it’s my first Tamil film and since I was a little girl dad and I have watched so many Tamil films and it feels surreal that now I get to work with such big and yet humble and wonderful people.. I am truly greatful for all that I have right now. (sic)” The film will mark Mandanna’s debut in the Tamil film industry.
A week ago, the filmmakers announced that Sulthan is in the final leg of production and the dubbing has commenced.
Speaking to Silverscreen India, the producer of the film SR Prabhu earlier told, “The film is a family drama and will have a lot of action. It will be a good entertainer. This film is going to be a celebration. We hope it brings back the audiences to the theatres.”
According to the producer, the film will be released early next year. The poster also hints that the film will have a theatrical release. Written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the film will also feature Ponnambalam and Yogi Babu in supporting roles.
While Karthi will be next seen in Mani Ratnam‘s period drama, Ponniyin Selvan, Mandanna’s upcoming Telugu film with Sharwanand was announced on Dussera. The film titled, Aadaalloo Meeku Johaarlu, will be directed by Kishore Tirumala.
