Surender Reddy will direct the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Thani Oruvan, which has already grossed over Rs.70 crores, and is still running in theatres. The remake will star Ram Charan in the lead and will be produced by DVV Danayya. Danayya had also considered M Raja, director of the original version and Vamsi Paidapally as possible directors for the remake. The team is yet to finalise the rest of the cast, including the female lead, and a suitable actor to reprise Arvind Swami’s role. Reports suggest that Kajal Aggarwal is being considered for the role. Danayya is also the producer for Ram Charan’s upcoming film Bruce Lee: The Fighter. Ram Charan had earlier said he was extremely impressed with Thani Oruvan. Shooting for the film is likely to begin in December.
