Suresh Gopi Appointed As NFDC Chairman

Actor Suresh Gopi, who played the villain in director Shankar’s I, has been appointed as the chairman of National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

According to International Business Times, the actor will take up the position from May 24, after director Ramesh Sippi, the current chairman, completes his tenure.

Suresh Gopi is the first Malayali to become the Chairman of NFDC.

In an interview to The Hindu, Suresh Gopi said he would work towards improving the content plan of Doordarshan.  He also revealed that he had plans to visit other cities to promote quality movies in Indian languages.

Suresh Gopi is now busy with two films – My God and Rudra Simhasanam.
