Suseenthiran To Showcase Women’s Kabaddi Team Through ‘Kennedy Club’

The project has been scheduled for a release for the Tamil New Years Day next year (April 14, 2019).

A spokesperson for the film told Silverscreen, “Kennedy Club continues the tradition of Suseenthiran’s films that have sports at their very heart. This is a story of an underdog team who claw their way to the top. Suseenthiran has chosen promising young female actors for the lead roles in the movie.”

The press release mentions Suseenthiran’s father, who founded a kabaddi club forty years ago, as an inspiration for the director.

The film is based on a women’s kabaddi team and has actors like Meenakshi, Neethu, Gayathri, Smrithi and Soundarya in important roles. Talks are on with a noted Hindi film actor to essay the role of the villain – the coach of a North Indian club.

D Imman will compose the music for the film. Muniskanth, Samuthirakani and Soori have been given important roles in the project that was launched earlier today with a formal pooja.

RB Gurudev is the cinematographer while Sekar B is the art director. Antony has been tasked with editing the film. Rajeevan will take care of the production design. Thai Saravanan produces the film through his Nallusamy Pictures banner.
