When the film was announced a month ago, Swathi’s parents filed a police complaint accusing the makers of emotional trauma. The victim was murdered early in the morning at Nungambakkam railway station on June 24 2016, when she was waiting for the local train.

The film recreates the murder and the controversial police investigation, which resulted in the accused, Ramkumar, allegedly committing suicide by biting a live wire in prison.

Thus far, another complaint has been filed against the producers and makers of the film by Swathi’s father, Santhana Gopalakrishnan, who wants it banned.
