T Rajendar is disturbed by the lack of response to the ongoing theatre strike. The actor revealed that he’d expected ‘some kind of response’ from the people to the Tamil film industry’s fight, and is depressed at the apparent apathy.
He told Silverscreen:
“I did my own kind of protest. The Tamil film industry did its own kind of protest. But, nobody, nobody, even so much as supported us. None of the common people came out to support us in the way they did Jallikattu. This is a protest against economic dictatorship and so it’s highly imperative that we have the support of the common people.”
He also slammed the TN Government for not responding to the Tamil film industry’s many attempts to arrive at a compromise.
