TamilRockers, a site that routinely leaks pirated versions of new releases, and Tamildb.net have been booked by Anti-Video Piracy Cell of the CB-CID for releasing Udhayanidhi Stalin-starrer Ippadai Vellum online, reported The Hindu.

The complaint was filed by the Tamil Film Producers Council, which stated that the film released in the theatres on November 9, and it was released on the two piracy websites on November 14.

Tamil Rockers has been at loggerheads with several members of the TFPC for a while. Vishal and KE Gnanavel Raja (Honourary Secretary) have often launched a tirade against the Internet pirates. Referring to them as the “Internet mafia”, TFPC – with its President Vishal Krishna leading the team – had even approached the commissioner of police in Chennai to take legal action.
