Taylor Swift to be Seen in David O Russell’s Upcoming Film

Taylor Swift, the American singer, will appear in director David O Russell’s upcoming film, alongside actors Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Zoe Saldana, John David Washington, and Rami Malek, reported Showbiz411.

According to the report, the film will be a period drama, set during the Great Depression of 1929. The film will be written and directed by Russell, who is best known for his 2012 directorial Silver Linings Playbook.

The film, which is reportedly titled Canterbury Glass, has wrapped up its production. It will be released by 20th Century Studios. The film’s cast includes Robert De Niro, Mike Myers, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Shannon, Chris Rock, Alessandro Nivola, and Anya Taylor-Joy, reported Deadline.

The film will be Russell’s first full length feature since his 2015 release Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence. This film will mark Russell’s first collaboration with Swift.

Swift who has won several Grammy awards for her singing and songwriting is also an occasional actor. She made her acting debut in 2010 with the film Valentine’s Day. Swift who was last seen in the 2019 film Cats, has countable acting credits, including The Giver (2014), and a voice role in the animated Dr. Seuss film The Lorax (2012).

In 2020, the singer featured in the documentary Miss Americana that follows Swift and her life over the course of several years. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is now available on Netflix.

Swift also directed and produced a documentary concert film called Folklore: The Lond Pond Studio Sessions, that released on Disney+ in 2020. In the film, Swift performs all 17 tracks of her eighth studio album Folklore, for which she won the Album of the Year Award at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

She also released her album Evermore in 2020.

Her latest album that released this year was Fearless, the re-recorded version of Swift’s 2008 album by the same name. Besides her old hits from 2008, the album also comprised two new tracks. It qincluded her latest version of the 2008 original rendition of hit song Love Story.
