Arya has signed his next film Teddy by director Shakti Soundar Rajan. The director announced the movie yesterday, as Arya prepares to tie the knot with Sayyeshaa this weekend.
Shakti Soundar Rajan spoke about the release of the movie title, and said, “We decided to release the film’s title yesterday itself as two occasions fell on March 10 — Arya’s wedding and my birthday.”
According to ToI, the director said that the full-fledged production will start only in May. “Though the movie’s shooting kicks off from Sunday, full-fledged production will start only in May. It will be shot in Chennai and exotic places in Europe.”
“The movie has music by D Imman, and will be a big-budget one and one-of-its-kind in Arya’s career. The rest of the cast of Teddy, including the heroine, will be finalised soon,” he added.
The director previously worked on the space adventure Tik Tik Tik and the zombie movie Miruthan. Both movies starred Jayam Ravi in the lead. Teddy is the director’s fifth project. His filmography also includes Naanayam and Naaigal Jaakirathai.
Arya recently wrapped up shoot for the Suriya-starrer Kaappaan. Mohanlal plays the role of Prime Minister and Arya plays his son in the movie. Suriya’s role is that of a bodyguard to the father-son duo.
Sayyeshaa plays the female lead in the movie. The supporting cast includes Bollywood actor Boman Irani, Samuthirakani and Mayilaswami. Chirag Jani plays Suriya’s friend in the film.
Arya also has Santhana Devan and Magamuni in the pipeline. There are reports that the actor is set to star in the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Mufti. The movie, produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, is rumoured to star Simbu in the lead, with Arya as the antagonist.
Meanwhile, Arya is getting married to Sayyeshaa this weekend in Hyderabad. The two actors appeared together in last year’s Ghajinikanth. Photos and videos from the pre-wedding bash are doing the rounds on social media.
