The TSFCC completed 75 years last week. Rao says that plans to celebrate the occasion with a big event are on, “We are meeting government officials to chalk out the celebration plans. We are the only one in Telangana recognized by the State and Central governments.”
The Telangana Government recently made a series of announcements to make the State more entertainment-friendly. As a part of this initiative, major irrigation projects undertaken by the government are being beautified, to promote them as film shooting spots. The Government is also permitting the construction of 200-member capacity small theatres, changing the name of the Nandi Film/TV awards, creating a single-window permission for film shoots within one week from the date of application, and issuing orders to theatres to screen five shows for low-budget film, among others measures.
Reports indicate that major Bollywood studios like Yash Raj have also been consulted about the prospect of building film studios in Telangana.
