TFPC To Halt Shooting On 26 August For Stunt Union’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations

TFPC, Stunt

The Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) has announced that all production activity will be put on hold on 26 August, to allow film professionals to attend the golden jubilee of the Action & Stunt Choreographers Union.

Maalai Malar reports that the South Indian Stunt Directors and Actors Union, which completes 50 years on 26 August, had requested the TFPC to halt shooting for a day, in order to allow its members to attend the union’s celebrations. A meeting was called for by the TFPC, in which they discussed the issue, and agreed to call for a halt of shooting across the state.

This comes on the back of a series of negotiations and strikes by Tamil Nadu filmmakers — a theatre strike protesting the local taxes and GST, followed by the altercation between FEFSI and TFPC over pay scale issues, among others.
