16 commercial flights take off or land at Udaipur airport every day. But on Saturday there were 71 extra landings and 70 takeoffs. Air traffic surged, commercial flights were delayed, and VVIP chartered flights landed on priority.
Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, the newly married Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the even more newly married Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, and others, a few cricketers, politicians, and business people landed.
Joining them were Beyonce, Hilary Clinton, John Kerry, who had all come to attend and dance at what was one of the pre-wedding events for Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani wedding to Anand Piramal.
Videos, pictures, anything with a glimpse of the event went viral on social media. Varun Dhawan’s banter with Karan Johar on board a flight, where Karan Johar worries he won’t fit into a sherwani if he eats a chip, made news before the event could start.

Karan Johar hosted the event. He had a rapid fire round with Mukesh Ambani where he tried asking about his political standing. Mukesh Ambani dodged the question.
Then, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh, Gauri Khan, Aishwarya Rai, all danced. Abhishek Bachchan had centre stage view of the performance.

Lest we forget that this was the wedding of only the richest and most powerful Indian family, Aamir Khan was there, and he danced with Shah Rukh.
There was one by the soon-to-be wedded couple. Because the gods sometime walk among mere mortals.
Special performance at the end was Beyonce’s. She did a three outfit change performance. They were made to order in India. And so they were all red and gold, paired with jewellery and jhumkas. One of them was a hand made swim-suit with 800 crystals and 150 elephant pearls. Because, why not?
Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, former US States Secretaries of State, also reportedly danced to bhangra.
This sangeet was one of the pre-wedding events planned for Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal. It happened at Oberoi Udaivilas and Lake Palace on Saturday. Last week Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas also married at a lakeside place in Rajasthan.
Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal will get married in Mumbai on December 12.
