‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ Scriptwriter Kera Singh Arrested For Double Murder

The UP Special Task Force (STF) arrested Ramabhishek Singh alias Kera Singh, 26, on Wenesday, from his Mumbai residence on charges of a double murder committed in 2009 at his native village in Azamgarh. Kera Singh is associated with actor/comedian Kapil Sharma’s K9 Productions and was writing scripts for Kapil Sharma’s show, Comedy Nights With Kapil.

The Hindustan Times quoted Arvind Chaturvedi,(ASP), STF as saying “He (Kera) is key accused in the sensational shootout at former Pradhan Ghure Singh’s house in Azamgarh’s Mau Parashan village that resulted in the death of two people and injuries to three others. Prohibited firearm (carbine) was used in the shootout. Carbines are generally used by police and other security forces.”

He added that Kera was just 19 years old at the time the murder took place. His father, Anil Singh alias Balianjar Singh and uncle Manoj Singh alias Patru Singh, were also arrested a few months after the murder, but Kera Singh continued to be on the run, before settling down in Mumbai in 2010, under a false identity. Singh also carried a reward of Rs. 30,000 on his head.

Singh has studied Mass Communications and also holds an MBA degree. He acted in SAB TV’s comedy show The Great Indian Family Drama and played several small roles in shows before he started working with K9 production house as a scriptwriter, on a contractual basis.
