Its official! Director AR Murugadoss has just confirmed that his latest project with Actor Vijay will release this Diwali. The principal photography for the movie began with a pooja at the famous Kalighat temple in Kolkata in February and is expected to wrap by the end of July. George C Williams the cinematographer of Raja Rani has been roped in for the visuals, while Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music. The movie also stars Samantha Prabu, Sathish and Prabhu among others.
However, like their earlier project together, Vijay’s 57th too is not without its share of speculations and controversies surrounding it. Earlier this month, Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury, who supposedly had been roped in to play the villain, revealed major plot details of the movie in an interview to a leading newspaper.
This perhaps did not go down well with the director, who is usually tight-lipped about his projects. AR Murugadoss later clarified, “The storyline is completely different from what Tota has said. His role is very minor in the movie. In fact, we’re still on the look out for an established actor to play the main antagonist.”
With the Suriya starrer Anjaan also gearing up for an October release, it looks like it will be an interesting Diwali!
