Hari Uthraa’s Kaltha, which revolves around the dumping of medical waste across Tamil Nadu, is an coming movie with a message.

Some members of the movie’s cast and crew were present at a media interaction to share more information about this film. The panel included director Hari Uthraa, producer Malarkodi Ragupathy and lead actor newcomer Siva Nishanth.

The director of the movie was quite impassioned in his defense of the film’s premise, he said, “Kaltha will depict how every ordinary individual must be aware of this crisis. The film draws a lot from real life incidents, and touches on the problem in parts of the state like Nagercoil.”

The film’s lead characters, played by Siva Nishanth and Antony, are a reflection of today’s youth. “The youth of today don’t limit their presence only to sharing memes and posting selfies on social media. The revolution is also out on the streets, for everyone to see.”

Lead actor Siva Nishanth said, “This is a film about a serious issue. It will be an entertaining film and at the same time will have a message to carry back home.”

Kaltha is produced by Malarkodi Ragupathy, S Hari Uthraa and R Usha for Malar Movie Makers in association with I Creations. The other actors of the film are Antony (of Merku Thodarchi Malai), Ayraa, Divya, Appukutty, Gajaraj, Rajasimman, Tiger Thangadurai, Suresh, Muthuveera and Kaaka Muttai Sasi in important roles.

The film’s music has been composed by K Jai Krish, and the cinematography is by B. Vasu with Muthu Muniasamy as the editor. Vairamuthu and Vidyasaagar are penning lyrics for the songs.
