Tamilnadu Theatre’s owners association has decided to cancel all shows until 6 PM tomorrow. The decision has been taken in a show of solidarity with the State wide bandh called for by trade organisations and farmers association, condemning the recent violence targeting Tamilians in Karnataka.
According to an official statement, all film-related activities will also be suspended for a day.
Kalaipuli S Thanu, speaking to Silverscreen, confirmed the news and said, “In association with the TN theatre owners’ association, the Producer’s Council, the Nadigar Sangam, the Director’s Union, and the Film Employees Federation of South India, it has been decided to suspend all film related activities. Nothing will happen tomorrow.”

Films like Sadhuram 2, Pagiri which were scheduled to release tomorrow, will likely be screened only after 6 PM.
Meanwhile, following the Cauvery water dispute, many celebrities from the industry took to social media sites to appeal for peace.
