Thor: Love and Thunder will begin shooting from January 2021, actor Chris Hemsworth revealed during an Instagram live session with Kriti Kharbanda for Swisse Vitamins & Supplements via ComicBook.
The news comes as a good news after fans were left disappointed over the stalling of the production for the highly-anticipated Marvel movie over the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent lockdown.
“I’m supposed to be shooting Thor [Love and Thunder] right now, but obviously, it got pushed back. I’ll be starting that in January,” Hemsworth said.
“We’ve got our work cut out for us. Taika Waititi, he’s back to direct. He’s writing the script right now. Natalie Portman is going to be in the film. So, we’ve got a fantastic slew of actors in there, and cast and crew,” Hemsworth said.
He also talked about trying to do something different in the film since people were expecting a dramatic change.
Hemsworth on Monday shared a photo of a script meeting for Thor, where Waititi was seen sleeping on a lawn. He captioned it: “Terrific first script meeting for “Thor Love and Thunder” with our ever fearless leader Taika Waititi. My notes were so detailed and intense that the only way for Taika to fully absorb them was to roll himself into a tight cocoon and bake in the endless possibilities of where the film will take us. The bloke in the background was equally riveted by my storytelling prowess. @taikawaititi #thorloveandthunder @marvel”

Thor: Love and Thunder will be bringing back Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, who was crowned the ruler of Asgard in Avengers: Endgame. The movie will also feature Natalie Portman as Jane Porter, the former girlfriend of Thor. Portman will be making a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after she was last seen in Thor: The Dark World.
