The petition was placed before the Madras High Court bench of Justices MM Sundresh and M Nirmal Kumar, by Shaman’s advocate Inthu Karunakaran on Friday. It has been posted for hearing today.

According to a report by Daily Thanthi, Shaman has alleged that Sathyakala’s father and step mother have abducted her, and they are not interested in her acting and modelling professions and are also making arrangements for her marriage against her will.

He said, “Sathyakala was friendly with everyone during the shoot for the film. She told me that her mother died young and her father re-married when she was 2-years-old, and that she was lonely as a child because there was no sibling. She told many people that her father and his wife did not like her acting career.”

Stating that she has been missing for over a week, he said, “We completed all the work on the movie and scheduled it for release on August 2. The team and the actors were invited by a journalist on July 22 for an interview. It was then that Sathyakala was missing. Her father and step mother have been holding her captive.”

On July 25, he registered a complaint of abduction with the Coimbatore police. As there was no positive response, he moved the Madras High Court. His advocate Indu Karunakaran appealed to the judges to hear his petition as an emergency case.

Sathyakala is 26, and a resident of Mahalingapuram in Coimbatore. The case was filed after she went missing from her house in Chennai, where she was working. Saman Mitru belongs to Perungalur in Chennai, and is a partner with Sharman Pictures, the producers of Thoratti.
