Sundeep Kishan-starrer Tiger, which releases in cinemas on Friday, was originally planned to be made in Tamil, according to its director Vi Anand. Filmmaker AR Murugadoss was supposed to produce the film in Tamil in association with Fox Star Studios. However, the plan didn’t materialize and Anand had to eventually make the film in Telugu. “I worked as an associate with Murugadoss. When I narrated the script, he instantly liked and wanted to produce it. Fox Star team was interested too, but there were issues with the casting as the script required two heroes. Though I wanted Jiiva and Vijay Sethupathi to play one of the lead characters, the project never came together,” Anand told Silverscreen.

Tiger, which also features Rahul Ravindran and Seerat Kapoor, is a tale of two friends, their bond, and the ups and downs in their lives. A social issue has also been addressed in the film, which was predominantly shot in Varanasi.
