Tigmanshu Dhulia, 49, To Play Dad To Shah Rukh Khan, 51, In New Film

Tigmanshu Dhulia has been roped in to play SRK’s dad in a new film. Dhulia at 49 years old, is a good two years younger than the actor he’s been asked to play father to.

Known for directing films such as Paan Singh Tomar, Dhulia says that acting in the film was ‘really fun’. “I finished my shoot for now, still 2-3 days of shoot is left. It was very good to be in the film,” Tigmanshu told PTI.

At present, Dhulia is gearing up for the launch of his upcoming directorial, Raag Desh. Based on the INA trials during the second World War, the film has the likes of Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah in lead roles. In a first of its kind, the trailer of the film will be launched in the Parliament on June 29. “Since the film has been commissioned by Rajya Sabha TV, they knew the way out on how to do it.  A private corporate producer wouldn’t have been able to do it. This is a very good opportunity and I am so happy. If possible, we are also planning to have a special screening later on for politicians,” Tigmanshu said.

SRK’s film with Dhulia is directed by Aanand L Raai.
