The Prithviraj-Indrajith collaboration, Tiyaan, will not release on June 29 as earlier announced. The film ran into censorship issues, and has been postponed.
Prithviraj posted on his Facebook page:
According to a Times of India report, the film’s writer Murali Gopy has denied that the CBFC roadblock had anything to do with the content of the film. He said, “No. It’s just that the process has been delayed.” The film is now expected to release on July 7.
Tiyaan stars Prithviraj and his brother Indrajith, along with Mridual Sathe, Murali Gopy, Ananya, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Shine Tom Chacko, Suraj Venjarumoodu, and Ravi Singh in the supporting cast. Directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar and produced by Haneef Mohammad, the film is based on a script written by Murali Gopy. It is reportedly one of the most expensive Malayalam films made to date, with a budget of Rs. 25 crore.
